LipiFlow® for Dry Eye

Advanced treatment brings relief

Do you suffer from Dry Eye Syndrome?

LipiFlow is an FDA-approved treatment that targets the leading cause of dry eye—Meibomian Gland Dysfunction. This state-of-the-art device can soothe and heal red, irritated eyes.

Our highly trained doctors and staff are proud to offer the only LipiFlow treatments available in Central New Mexico. Set up an appointment to learn more.

What Causes Dry Eye?

Tears and blinking are essential to eye health. Blinking protects eye tissue by clearing away irritants and circulating nourishing, infection-fighting tears.

Sometimes changes to your health, viewing habits, or even the environment can interfere with normal tear production or healthy blinking patterns. Without the right quality or quantity of tears, your eyes can feel dry and irritated.

A major culprit is Meibomian Gland Dysfunction.

The meibomian glands, found in the eyelids, distribute oils that are essential for healthy, lasting tears. Sometimes these glands clog or fail, harming tear quality. Untreated, this condition may worsen with time.

How Does LipiFlow Work?

LipiFlow helps restore gland function in the eyelids. It uses proven therapies to open clogged glands and stimulate normal activity.

The procedure is noninvasive and uses state-of-the-art materials to protect delicate eye tissue. Advanced technology delivers therapeutic energies including heat and massage to relieve blocked glands.

LipiFlow treatments last approximately 12 minutes and take place right here in our office in Rio Rancho.

Patients feel no pain and report the session to be “soothing.” One of our trained optometrists can guide you on what to expect, but many patients feel relief in as little as one session.

Let us work with you to diagnose and treat the cause of your dry eyes. Schedule an appointment today!
